About The Band
Biography

The Campbell River Legion Youth Pipe Band was formed in 1957 and has been very active in the Community since that time.    It is sponsored by Branch 137, Royal Canadian Legion, and by the Campbell River Celtic Arts Society.  Aside from the dozen or more performances and parades every year, the band is active in the BC Pipeband scene, competing at the Grade 4 level in several regional Highland Games.  The Band travels regularly; looking for any opportunity to entertain and represent the Campbell River Community.  In 2008 a Section went to Ishikari, Japan accompanying a delegation of diplomats.

The Pipeband practices weekly at the Campbell River Legion,  You can learn to play the Pipes or Drums by coming down at 5pm for bagpipes and 6:00pm for drumming every Tuesday.  If you are already an accomplished musician and or would just like to hear the band play, come down after 7:00pm.  You will always be welcomed.
